Rather predictable result when top-ranked Real Madrid (4-0) won against 7th ranked CB Canarias (2-2) in Tenerife 93-82 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. CB Canarias was better in fourth quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American-Guinea-Bissau guard K.C. Rivers (196-87, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International Rudy Fernandez (198-85) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (209-82, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for CB Canarias. Four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. Real Madrid have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with FC Barcelona and Unicaja. Loser CB Canarias dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Real Madrid will face Valencia Basket at home in the next round where they are favorite. CB Canarias will play against Blusens Monbus in Santoago de Comp and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
