Regular Season Round 2: Bulleen B. - Bendigo S. 67-76

Date: October 26, 2014
The game in Melbourne was also quite interesting. Bendigo Spirit (2-1) played at the court of Bulleen Boomers (0-3). Bendigo Spirit managed to secure a 9-point victory 76-67 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 27-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bendigo Spirit outrebounded Bulleen Boomers 36-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. International center Gabrielle Richards (191-84, college: Oregon) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Belinda Snell (180-81) supported her with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Bendigo Spirit's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) did not help to save the game for Bulleen Boomers. International guard Rebecca Allen (185-92) added 13 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Bendigo Spirit will meet at home Dandenong Rangers in the next round. Bulleen Boomers will play against West Coast Waves in Perth and hope to win that game.
