Regular Season Round 5: Malbas - Boras II 83-75

Everything could happen in Malmo at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Malbas and 4th placed Boras II had identical 3-1 record. This time Malbas used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Boras 83-75 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the top position in South. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-14. But Boras II won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Boras II 43-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Boras II was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Niklas Sellin (197-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Fredrik Larsson (200-93) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Malbas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Hajzer Ismaili (202-94) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Adam Andersson (187-91) added 19 points in the effort for Boras II. Malbas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of South leader, which they share with Huddinge and IK Eos. Loser Boras II dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Malbas will face Trelleborg (#5) at home in the next round. Boras II will play against Haga Haninge and hope to win that game.
