Regular Season Round 3: Skallagrimur - Snaefell 83-88

There was no surprise in Borgarnes where Skallagrimur (0-3) was defeated by Snaefell (2-1) 88-83. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Snaefell outrebounded Skallagrimur 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 6 assists. The former international forward Sigurdur Thorvaldsson (201-80) accounted for 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. American forward Tracey Smith (203-89, college: N.Carolina St.) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Arnar Bjornsson (180-93) added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals respectively for Skallagrimur in the defeat. Five Snaefell and four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Snaefell's next round opponent will be Stjarnan (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Skallagrimur will play against Haukar (#1) in Hafnarfjordur and hopes to get finally their first victory.
