Regular Season Round 5: Le Mans - Cholet 61-82

The most shocking disappointment of round 5 was a home defeat of Le Mans (2-3) by Cholet Basket (3-2) who outscored them by 21 points 82-61. It ended the two-game winning streak of Le Mans. American forward Nick Minnerath (206-88, college: Detroit Mercy) stepped up and scored 26 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Cedrick Banks (191-81, college: Ill.-Chicago) chipped in 12 points and 8 assists. Beninese forward Mouphtaou Yarou (206-90, college: Villanova) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Antoine Eito (186-88) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cholet Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Le Mans at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with 7 other teams. Cholet Basket is looking forward to face Sluc Nancy on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Le Mans will play against Chalons-Reims and is hoping to win this game.
