Regular Season Round 2: Hapoel G/A - Maccabi K/G 82-76

Date: October 28, 2014
Hapoel Afula used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kiryat Gat 82-76. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi K/G won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Afula made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Maccabi K/G was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized American guard Stu Douglass (190-90, college: Michigan) supported him with 22 points. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American forward J'Nathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St.) did not help to save the game for Maccabi K/G. The former international forward Jonhatan Nir (204-86, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Hapoel Afula will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi K/G will play against GreenTops Netanya to get more than just one victory in their record.
