Regular Season Round 4: Le Portel - St Quentin 87-89 OT

Saint-Quentin (2-2) outlasted Le Portel (2-2) in overtime by two points 89-87 on Friday night. The game took place in Le Portel. But the guests from Saint-Quentin were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Le Portel. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 22-12 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Anthony Smith (196-86, college: Liberty) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Polish forward Mathieu Wojciechowski (203-92) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Le Portel players scored in double figures. Saint-Quentin moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Le Portel. Saint-Quentin will face Aix-Maurienne (#17) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
