Very important is a road loss of Real Celta Vigo (1-1) against Maquinaria Ensino (2-0) on Friday night. Visiting Real Celta Vigo was defeated by Maquinaria Ensino in a tough game in Lugo 54-62. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Real Celta Vigo won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Real Celta Vigo 44-30 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. American center Kendra Suttles (185-91, college: Oklahoma St.) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Mali Minata Keita (-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Maria Perez Araujo (184-97) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Real Celta Vigo. Maquinaria Ensino will play against Arxil Pontevedra on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Real Celta Vigo will play against Aros Leon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
