Regular Season Round 6: TuRi - Catz 57-111

SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked TuRi (2-4) in Turku 111-57. The game without a history. Catz Lappeenranta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 32. Catz Lappeenranta forced 23 TuRi turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American swingman Alexandria Anderson (186-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) chipped in 23 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Shafontaye Myers (173-92, college: Alabama) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Ida Myllyoja (180-96) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. TuRi's coach Jukka Valpola gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. TuRi at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Catz Lappeenranta will play against HyPo in Hyvinkaa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. TuRi will play on the road against the league's second-placed Peli-Karhut in Kotka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
