Regular Season Round 7: Tochigi Brex - Hokkaido L. 97-76
Date: November 1, 2014
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Hokkaido L. (2-5) was crushed on the road by third ranked Tochigi Brex (5-2) 97-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tochigi Brex made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) helped adding 17 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Tomokazu Abe (180-85) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mitsubishi DD and Toyota Alvark. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Tochigi Brex will face again Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round.
