Regular Season Round 6: HyPo - ViVe 85-69
Date: November 1, 2014
No shocking result in a game when third ranked HyPo (4-2) beat 6th ranked ViVe (2-4) in Hyvinkaa 85-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. ViVe managed to win second period 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward Laura Saarinen (187-92) supported her with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Kenya McBee (188-83, college: N.Carolina) did not help to save the game for ViVe. Her fellow American import forward Breanna Salley (180-87, college: Seattle) added 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted HyPo maintains third position with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Catz, which they share with ToPo. ViVe at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. HyPo will meet league's leader Catz Lappeenranta on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ViVe will play against Pyrinto in Tampere and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
