Regular Season Round 9: Yokohama BC - Akita NH 59-79

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Akita Happinets (7-2) outplayed on the road 8th ranked Yokohama BC (3-6) 79-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Yokohama BC was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Yokohama BC to just 4 points in first quarter. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Akita Happinets made 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Akita Happinets. They maintain third place with 7-2 record behind leader Kyoto Hannar., which they share with Niigata Albirex and Okinawa GK. Yokohama BC lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Akita Happinets will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play again at home against Akita Happinets (#3) and hope to win that game.
