Regular Season Round 4: Taipans - Kings 74-62

NBL top team - Cairns Taipans (6-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Kings (1-3) 74-62. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 31-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cairns Taipans dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 30. International guard Cameron Gliddon (196-89, college: Concordia Irvine) fired 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-92, college: Florida) chipped in 15 points. Four Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. Cairns Taipans' coach Aaron Fearne used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) produced 17 points and international swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta St.) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cairns Taipans have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Kings lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Cairns Taipans will meet at home league's second-placed New Zealand Breakers in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kings will play against Perth Wildcats (#4) and hope to win that game.
