Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Fukushima (1-8) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Sendai 89ers (6-3) 95-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sendai 89ers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 36. Sendai 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Fukushima was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach Shuto Kawachi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Fukushima. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sendai 89ers. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aomori Watts. Fukushima lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round. Fukushima will play again at home against Sendai 89ers (#6) and hope to win that game.
