Very expected game in Thessaloniki where Koroivos (1-3) was defeated by top-ranked PAOK (3-0) 84-71. The game was mostly controlled by PAOK. Koroivos was better in third quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Koroivos 40-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international forward Giorgos Dedas (199-80) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Apollonas Tsochlas (189-83) supported him with 17 points. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) did not help to save the game for Koroivos. His fellow American import forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) added 14 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. PAOK have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Aris. Koroivos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. PAOK's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Panionios in Athens which should be an easy win for them. Koroivos will play at home against KAOD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
