Regular Season Round 7: Quimper - CFBB 95-56

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-56 loss to eleventh ranked Quimper UJAP (3-4) in Quimper on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Quimper UJAP. CFBB was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Quimper UJAP made 32-of-32 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game, while CFBB only scored eleven points from the stripe. Quimper UJAP forced 32 CFBB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. CFBB was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) fired 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for the winners. Portuguese point guard Miguel Cardoso (188-93) chipped in 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Stephane Gombauld (203-97) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Luc Loubaki (191-97) added 13 points and 7 steals respectively for lost side. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Quimper UJAP moved-up to tenth place, which they share with St Vallier and Avignon-Sorgues. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with six games lost. Quimper UJAP will have a break next round. CFBB will play at home against Mulhouse Basket (#15) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
