Regular Season Round 7: Mulhouse - Cognac 81-76

Mulhouse Basket can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Cognac BB (2-4) 81-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cognac BB won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Mulhouse Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Parfait Njiba (198-89) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Marcus Kitts (205-89, college: William & Mary) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Mulhouse Basket's coach Jamel Benabid used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Jamaican power forward Adrian Forbes (211-88, college: Auburn) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Maxime Choplin (181-92) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Cognac BB in the defeat. Four Mulhouse Basket and five Cognac BB players scored in double figures. Mulhouse Basket (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place. Cognac BB at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Mulhouse Basket's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked CFBB (#16) in Paris.
