No shocking result in a game in Castellon where fifth ranked Castello (4-1) smashed 7th ranked Marin (2-3) 72-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Castello led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Castello forced 20 Marin turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Center Victor Hidalgo (204-86) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Castello players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) produced 18 points and American guard Gabe Rogers (188-90, college: N.Arizona) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Castello have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Caceres. Loser Marin dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Castello will face bottom-ranked Canarias (#15) in Gran Canaria in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
