The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (8-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Huracanes (7-3) 86-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Halcones UV Xalapa. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 28-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Cliff Tucker (198-89, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Omar Quintero (182-81, college: S.Nazarene) who added 21 points during the contest. Four Huracanes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St.) with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and international guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (183-86, college: W.Kentucky) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Huracanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Halcones UV Xalapa at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Pioneros. Huracanes are looking forward to face Panteras (#11) in Aguascalientes in the next round where they are favorite. Halcones UV Xalapa will play on the road against Barreteros (#12) in Zacatecas and is hoping to win this game.
