Important game to mention about took place in Chiba. Fourth ranked Chiba Jets (4-3) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Toyota Alvark (5-2) 72-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. Toyota Alvark was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. International power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Toyota Alvark in the defeat. Chiba Jets maintains fourth place with 4-3 record. Toyota Alvark at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi DD and Tochigi Brex. Chiba Jets will again play against higher ranked Toyota Alvark (#3) in Tokyo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round.
