Important game to mention about took place in Katwijk. Fifth ranked Binnenland (2-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Grasshoppers (1-5) 58-56 on Saturday evening. Binnenland had a 34-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Grasshoppers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international center Marlous Nieuwveen (196-80) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Zera Butter (179-92) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Sonja Kuijt replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Ingrid Van der Plas (178-91) added 4 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Grasshoppers. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Den Helder. Grasshoppers lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Binnenland will play against higher ranked CTO (#3) in Amsterdam in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Grasshoppers will have a break next round.
