Very expected game when 9th ranked Forssan Alku (1-5) was smashed at home by second ranked Peli-Karhut (5-1) 92-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Peli-Karhut. Forssan Alku managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Peli-Karhut forced 22 Forssan Alku turnovers. American forward Natasha Thames (183-91, college: Temple) notched 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Keira Peak (175-91, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) supported her with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Dequesha McClanahan (173-91, college: Winthrop) did not help to save the game for Forssan Alku. Center Juta Jahilo (186-84) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Peli-Karhut have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Catz. Forssan Alku lost fifth consecutive game. Loser Forssan Alku dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. Peli-Karhut will meet at home TuRi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Forssan Alku will have a break next round.
