There was a small surprise in S'Arenal where ninth ranked Palma (3-2) defeated 7th ranked Lleida Basquet (2-2) 70-62 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 46-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Palma dominated on the defensive end, holding Lleida Basquet to just 7 points in first quarter. They also forced 20 Lleida Basquet turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Palma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawn Glover (201-90, college: ORU, agency: Comsport) who scored 21 points. Italian guard Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 12 points. Center Francisco Guerra (214-92) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American forward Gregory Kahlig (198-92, college: Findlay, OH) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Lleida Basquet's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palma moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Planasa NV and Coruna. Loser Lleida Basquet dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Palma will face league's second-placed Blancos de Rueda in Valladolid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lleida Basquet will play at home against Prat (#13) and hope to win that game.
