Maccabi Ashdod can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Eilat, where they edged Hapoel Eilat (1-4) 88-86 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 26-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Maccabi Ashdod forced 20 Hapoel Eilat turnovers. It was Hapoel Eilat's fourth loss in a row. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home bottom-ranked Ironi Nahariya (#12) in the next round. Hapoel Eilat will play against Maccabi Rishon in Rishon Le-Zion and hope to win that game.
