Regular Season Round 6: Belfast Star - Killester 57-75

Bottom-ranked Belfast Star (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to second ranked Killester (4-1) 75-57. Killester dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Belfast Star's 30. Killester had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Alan Casey (191-89) contributed with 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Ricky Taylor (195-89, college: Chattanooga) replied with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Keelan Cairns (208, college: Pennsylvania) added 5 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Belfast Star. Belfast Star's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains second position with 4-1 record behind leader UCC Demons. Belfast Star at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Killester's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Swords Thunder.
