There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (2-3) defeated at home higher ranked Galil Gilboa (2-3) 84-74. Galil Gilboa was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 30-16 charge of Hapoel Tel-Aviv, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) nailed 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) accounted for 18 points and 8 assists. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Katash allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
