Ferrara (4-1) recorded its first loss in Verona on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Alpo VR (2-2) 73-64. It was a great shooting night for Alpo VR especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Giulia Monica (169-87) who scored 20 points. Guard Maria Zanella (174-92) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Alpo VR's coach Nicola Soave used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Liliana Miccio (182-89) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Alpo VR maintains sixth place in A2 with 2-2 record. Loser Ferrara still keeps top position with one game lost. Alpo VR will meet higher ranked Vicenza (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ferrara will have a break next round.
