Regular Season Round 5: Sleza Wroclaw - MKK Siedlce 72-65

There was a minor upset when higher ranked MKK Siedlce (2-3) lost on the road to tenth ranked Sleza Wroclaw (2-3) 72-65. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-14. But MKK Siedlce won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded MKK Siedlce 39-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Jhasmin Player (178-87, college: Baylor, agency: Merit Management Group) who scored 32 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Her fellow American import power forward Gloria Brown (187-89, college: UTEP, agency: Merit Management Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American center Amy Jaeschke (196-89, college: Northwestern) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Magdalena Bibrzycka (183-88) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Sleza Wroclaw moved-up to seventh place, which they share with MKK Siedlce and Rybnik. MKK Siedlce lost their third game in a row. Sleza Wroclaw's next round opponent will be Rybnik (#8) at home.
