Regular Season Round 4: Gimle - BC Asker 53-46
Date: November 2, 2014
The game in Bergen was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers BC Asker (2-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Gimle (3-2). Gimle managed to secure a 7-point victory 53-46 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Asker. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 18-6. But BC Asker won third quarter 18-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gimle dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Asker to just 6 points in first quarter. They also forced 20 BC Asker turnovers. The winners were led by Montenegrin forward Biljana Pavicevic (191-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) supported her with 14 points and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds by forward Siri Granheim (178-94) did not help to save the game for BC Asker. Kristine Lindholm (180-95) added 12 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Gimle moved-up to third place. Loser BC Asker dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Gimle will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Asker will play against Hoybraten (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
