Another exciting game where Brasilia (1-0) edged by three points Paschoalotto/Bauru (0-1) 86-83. Paschoalotto/Bauru was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It looked good early as Paschoalotto/Bauru took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then Brasilia had a 25-13 second period charge getting the lead and Paschoalotto/Bauru was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-86. Brasilia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Paschoalotto/Bauru's 26. Brasilia forced 24 Paschoalotto/Bauru turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Darington Hobson (201-87, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Paschoalotto/Bauru. Four Brasilia and five Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Brasilia will play against Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo in the next round. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play at home against SKY/Basquete and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
