Regular Season Round 2: Qingdao E. - Jiangsu D. 103-98

Everything went according to plan when Qingdao Eagles (1-0) defeated at home Jiangsu Dragons (0-2) 103-98 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jiangsu Dragons won third quarter 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Qingdao Eagles made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American players dominated also this game. Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington, agency: Comsport) supported him with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks by forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu Dragons. point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) added 23 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Qingdao Eagles will meet DongGuan Leopards on the road in the next round. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Fujian and hope to win that game.
