Regular Season Round 6: Keflavik - Grindavik 106-57

An interesting game for Keflavik (5-1) which hosted at home court Grindavik (3-3). First ranked Keflavik had an easy win 106-57. Keflavik dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Grindavik's 44 and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Grindavik 60-24 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Keflavik players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-91, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and international Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) chipped in 13 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Five Keflavik players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Petrunella Skuladottir (177-85) with 14 points and the former international center Maria Ben Erlingsdottir (187-88, college: UTPA, agency: Promotex) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Snaefell and Haukar. Grindavik at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Valur. Keflavik will play against Hamar on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Grindavik will play against Valur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
