Regular Season Round 3: Bayi - Shanghai 85-87

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bayi Kylin (2-1) in Yinzhou on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by Shanghai Octopus (3-0) 87-85. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Shanghai Octopus made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Guard Ni Zhang (175-84) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Shanghai Octopus players scored in double figures. Forward MengXin Sun (190-93) answered with 25 points and the former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Bayi Kylin. Shanghai Octopus is looking forward to face Guangdong Dolphins in Guangzhou in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bayi Kylin will play at home against Zhejiang Far East and is hoping to win this game.
