Regular Season Round 3: Henan - Shanxi 73-98

No shocking result in a game when Shanxi Rui Flame (3-0) crushed Henan (0-3) in Jiyuan 98-73 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Shanxi Rui Flame. Henan managed to win third quarter 31-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Henan 31-18. Shanxi Rui Flame looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) who led the winners and scored 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists. International center Wei Wei (206-89) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Shanxi Rui Flame players scored in double figures. American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) came up with 44 points (!!!) and the former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Henan in the defeat. Shanxi Rui Flame will meet Liaoning Hengye in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Henan will play against Beijing Great Wall and hopes to get finally their first victory.
