The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of CASLA (5-3) in Almagra on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Ferrocarril O. (5-2) 87-83. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 4-2 record before this meeting. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CASLA won fourth quarter 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by CASLA helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Willie Readus (201, college: Delta St.) who scored 33 points (!!!) (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international center Ezequiel Dentis (206-82) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Ferrocarril O.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jazwin Cowan (203-83, college: Hampton) produced 25 points and swingman Exequiel Cassinelli (196-92) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferrocarril O. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with MH Basket. CASLA at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
