Regular Season Round 9: Toyota Alvark - Tochigi Brex 70-85

An interesting game for Tochigi Brex (8-2) which played road game in Tokyo against 3rd placed Toyota Alvark (6-4). Second ranked Tochigi Brex had an easy win 85-70. It looked good early as Toyota Alvark took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tochigi Brex had a 19-11 second period charge getting the lead and Toyota Alvark was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-85. Tochigi Brex shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Hiroki Watanabe (180-88) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain second place with 8-2 record having just -2 point less than leader Hitachi SR. Toyota Alvark at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Tochigi Brex's next round opponent will be Chiba Jets (#4) at home. Toyota Alvark will play against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
