There was a minor upset when higher ranked Denain Voltaire (2-3) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Lille Metropole (2-3) 65-53. The game was mostly controlled by Lille Metropole. Denain Voltaire was better in fourth quarter 19-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lille Metropole forced 22 Denain Voltaire turnovers. Naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Vafessa Fofana (198-92) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Denain Voltaire in the defeat.
