Regular Season Round 6: Marin - Lucentum 60-69

Date: November 8, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Marin (2-4) lost at home to top-ranked Meridiano Alicante (6-0) 69-60 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-60. Meridiano Alicante forced 19 Marin turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Javier Marin (194-86) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 4 steals. Guard Sergio Vidal (194-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 11 points for the winners. American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Gabe Rogers (188-90, college: N.Arizona) added 18 points in the effort for Marin. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Meridiano Alicante have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Azpeitia. Marin lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
