Regular Season Round 7: Legia - Stal Ostrow 69-80

Undefeated leader Stal Ostrow delivered the seventh consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Legia (3-4) 80-69 in Warszawa. The game was mostly controlled by Stal Ostrow. Legia managed to win fourth quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stal Ostrow shot 26 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Legia only scored seven points from the stripe. It was a great evening for forward Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-86) helped adding 12 points and 6 assists. Four Stal Ostrow players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Arkadiusz Kobus (197-86, agency: Promotex) responded with 16 points and power forward Bartlomiej Bojko (200-92) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stal Ostrow (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Newly promoted Legia dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Stal Ostrow will meet at home Sokol Lancut (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Legia will play against Pogon Prudnik and hope to secure a win.
