The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Toshiba Thunders' (5-3) road victory over 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (2-8) in Saporro 87-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Hokkaido L. was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks and Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hokkaido L.Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Toshiba Thunders. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Mitsubishi DD and Hiroshima D. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Toyota Alvark (#3) in Tokyo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
