Regular Season Round 7: UCD Marian - UCC Demons 84-104

Undefeated leader UCC Demons delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 8th ranked UCD Marian (2-4) 104-84 in Dublin. They outrebounded UCD Marian 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. UCC Demons players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by UCD Marian's players. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Colin O'Reilly (200-84, college: Post) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) accounted for 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. UCC Demons' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Neil Baynes (198-87) came up with 20 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Dan James (189-90) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for UCD Marian in the defeat. Four UCC Demons and five UCD Marian players scored in double figures. UCC Demons (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. UCD Marian at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. UCC Demons' next round opponent will be Templeogue (#6) in Dublin which should be theoretically another easy game. UCD Marian's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Swords Thunder.
