There was a surprise result when tenth ranked GTK Gliwice (3-4) smashed at home higher ranked GKS Tychy (3-4) 78-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 46-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. GTK Gliwice outrebounded GKS Tychy 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Power forward Wojciech Fras (203-91) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Artur Donigiewicz (190-84) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. Piotr Halas (190-87) produced 18 points and power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. GTK Gliwice moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated GKS Tychy. GTK Gliwice will face bottom-ranked AZS PP (#14) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GKS Tychy will play at home against Astoria Bydg. (#13) and hope to win that game.
