There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Opentach Pla (0-5) was outleveled on the road by twelfth ranked CB Guadalajara (2-3) 74-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. CB Guadalajara led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. CB Guadalajara outrebounded Opentach Pla 39-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Eduardo Duran (190-91, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American forward Ridge McKeither (198-88, college: Angelo St.) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Juan Riera (188-79) added 8 points and 4 assists in the effort for Opentach Pla. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Guadalajara moved-up to seventh place, which they share with CB Tarragona and Fuenlabrada. Newly promoted Opentach Pla still closes the standings with five games lost. CB Guadalajara will face CB Tarragona 2017 (#7) on the road in the next round. Opentach Pla will play against Zornotza (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
