Regular Season Round 7: UL Eagles - Belfast Star 64-69

Belfast Star can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked UL Eagles (2-3)on the road game in Limerick 69-64 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American guard Ricky Taylor (195-89, college: Chattanooga) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. Forward Keelan Cairns (208, college: Pennsylvania) helped adding 9 points and 6 rebounds. Belfast Star's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side the former international point guard Scott Kinevane (175-87) responded with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists and American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Belfast Star maintains tenth place with 1-6 record. Loser UL Eagles dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Templeogue. Belfast Star will meet higher ranked DCU Saints (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UL Eagles will play against the league's second-placed Killester having rather not much hope for a victory.
