Regular Season Round 3: Rubon - Grodno-93 66-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Rubon (2-1) in Vitebsk. Hosts were defeated by Grodno-93 (3-0) 81-66. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Rubon was better in fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno-93 forced 30 Rubon turnovers. Rubon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international point guard Vyacheslau Korzh (192-84) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Kanstantin Yafremov (202-86, agency: Promotex) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Grodno-93's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Artem Syrovatko (207-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Aliaksei Prakapenka (195-92) added 14 points in the effort for Rubon. Grodno-93 will play against Impuls BGUIR (#7) in Minsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rubon will play on the road against BGEU-RCOR in Osipovichi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
