Regular Season Round 6: Valladolid - Palma 81-77

LEB Gold top team - Blancos de Rueda (5-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Palma (3-3) in Valladolid 81-77. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Blancos de Rueda outrebounded Palma 46-26 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) supported him with 12 points and 8 assists. Blancos de Rueda's coach Porfirio Fisac allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by center Mario Cabanas (207-85) did not help to save the game for Palma. American point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) added 13 points. Five Blancos de Rueda and four Palma players scored in double figures. Blancos de Rueda have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Palma dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with Ourense and Oviedo. Blancos de Rueda will meet Prat (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Palma will play against Burgos (#11) and hope to secure a win.
