Regular Season Round 6: Talje - Helsingborg 91-68

The most shocking disappointment of round 6 in the Basketettan was a road defeat of 5th ranked Helsingborg (4-4) by eighth ranked Talje Knights (2-2) who outscored them by 23 points 91-68. It ended the two-game winning streak of Helsingborg. The game was mostly controlled by Talje Knights. Helsingborg managed to win third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Talje Knights forced 22 Helsingborg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Helsingborg's players. 25 personal fouls committed by Helsingborg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Ludvig Swanstrom (196-96) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Michiel Peterson (202-94) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Simon Birgander (191-97) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Filip Sjostrom (198-90) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Talje Knights and five Helsingborg players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Talje Knights moved-up to seventh place in South. Helsingborg at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Talje Knights are looking forward to face league's second-placed Malbas in Malmo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Helsingborg will have a break next round.
