Regular Season Round 11: Fukuoka Rizing - Akita NH 71-84

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Akita Happinets (10-2) defeated on the road 9th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (2-10) 84-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) who scored 26 points. American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. American power forward Kirk Van Slyke (208-89, college: Arkansas St., agency: KMG Sports Management) produced 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Jamie Duncan tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Akita Happinets. They maintain third place with 10-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Fukuoka Rizing lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
