The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Wisla Krakow as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Wisla Krakow smashed 6th ranked AZS UMCS at home 81-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AZS UMCS. The game was mostly controlled by Wisla Krakow. AZS UMCS managed to win fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wisla Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to AZS UMCS's 38. They outrebounded AZS UMCS 38-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) chipped in 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was international swingman Aldona Morawiec (182-92) with 11 points and 4 steals and American guard Hanna Luburgh (178-92, college: Akron, agency: Promotex) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wisla Krakow (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted AZS UMCS dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. AZS UMCS will play next round against Sleza Wroclaw trying to get back on the winning streak.
