The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Umea as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Umea smashed 3rd ranked Alvik Basket at home 96-53. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Alvik Basket. The game without a history. Umea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Alvik Basket's 24. Umea forced 19 Alvik Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 43-22 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Umea made 13 blocks.
